PROFILE:  Father is Kevin Lockett, who was an All Big-12 performer for Kansas State in 1996 and a second-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1997. Tyler broke his father’s school records for career receptions and yards. In 2014, was selected second-team All-American as an all-purpose player and first-team All-Big 12. Was also a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist (nation’s top wide receiver award). Two-time Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year (2014 and 2013). In 2013, selected first-team All-Big 12 as a wide receiver and kick returner. Honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2012, finishing with four receiving touchdowns and two kick-return touchdowns. Named 2011 Big-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and second-team All-Big 12 kick returner. Also one of just three players in school history to earn all- conference honors all four years. Set 17 school records, including the career marks for receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, 100-yard receiving games, kickoff-return attempts and kickoff-return yards.

On how well he thought he performed overall throughout Senior Bowl week

I thought I did a great job. I mean, I think I came here and I did exactly what they wanted me to do, which is compete and show them that I’m one of the best receivers coming out. I wanted to get better, see where I was at as far as the whole entire receiving corps, as far as where the DB’s are at, seeing what I need to work on. I think I did a great job. You know, coach Sullivan (Jerry Sullivan – Jaguars wide receivers coach) did a great job teaching me. He told me to just keep working on the little things, but he thinks that I’m a great receiver.

On what couple of things he felt that he was able to showcase to the scouts during the week

I don’t think people really thought I was fast. I don’t know where that came from. I think I went out there and did a great job in my speed. People didn’t think I could catch the ball. I showed them that I was consistent catching the ball throughout the whole entire week. So, I think a lot of the things I think they were worried about, I think I proved it to them this week.

On what he took away from working with an NFL staff during Senior Bowl week

I got to see what an NFL playbook was like, understanding their terminology, understanding how they want routes to be ran. I was able to adapt, I was able to run the routes they wanted me to run. The coaching staff loved me, they said I did a great job. Like I said, I just wanted to do whatever I could for the team to win.

On making plays from both the slot and outside and whether there is one position where he is more comfortable

I’m used to playing both of them. I played outside two years at Kansas State, inside two years at Kansas State. So, it really doesn’t make a difference. I’m comfortable on both sides of the ball. You know, it was easy to see it out there. I still have a lot more things to work on, but I want to be able to master that part of the game.

On who was the toughest competition he had during the week

I think it was equal. I think throughout the whole entire practices, I think everybody gave me a different type of thing to look for and to work on. They all pushed me. At the end of the day, I think Nick Marshall did a great job, the cornerback from Miami (Ladarius Gunter) did a great job. He was real physical. A lot of people just had different aspects of the game so I had to be able to change the way that I did certain things against whoever I went against.
