Rapid Reaction: Picks 21-24: 2015 1st Round Grades
21. Cincinnati Bengals: OT Cedric Ogbuehi
-This is just a head scratcher, there had been talk that Ogbuehi was going higher than expected, but I don’t get this pick for the Bengals. They are a team that needs a player to get them over the hump and Ogbuehi doesn’t appear to be that guy.
Grade: C
22. Pittsburgh Steelers: OLB Bud Dupree
-The Steelers had to go defense here and they need to get after the QB so drafting Dupree makes a lot of sense. I would have maybe considered Ray or Gregory even with their off the field issues, but Dupree is a good value as well.
Grade: A-
23. Denver Broncos (via Detroit Lions): DE/OLB Shane Ray
-Really like this pick for the Broncos, Ray falls some but offers excellent value here. The concerns about his workout numbers feel over blown, and the off the field stuff was a bit of a stretch as well. Ray will team up with an already devastating pass rush group that features DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller to give the Broncos one of the most feared pass rushes in the league.
Grade: A
24. Arizona Cardinals: OT D.J. Humphries
-The Cardinals needed OL help so that definitely makes sense, but I’m just not as high on Humphries. He’s a project player for me and perhaps Arizona can give him a year and he can be the guy for them, but I worry if he’ll ever make it. Even late in the first round there is some real risk involved, but he does fill the need.
