Cleveland Browns Final Mock Draft
Here is final Browns mock draft in its entirety:
6. Cleveland Browns – CB Dee Milliner, Alabama
About the Pick: Milliner is the top corner in this draft, he displays great size, speed and coverage ability. He’s got the upside to be a number one corner, and shadow some of the top receivers in the NFL. He’s very pro ready playing in the SEC and in Nick Saban’s defense.
Steve’s Take: The Browns have added a lot of front 7 help in free agency. While I wouldn’t necessarily put it past them from making a value pick here with another pass rusher or top defensive lineman, I think Cleveland will go in another direction here. If Dee Milliner is on the board, they will have the complement to Joe Haden that they are looking for. Trading back is also very much an option.
68. Cleveland Browns- TE Vance McDonald, Rice
104. Cleveland Browns- ILB Kiko Alonzo, Oregon
139. Cleveland Browns- OLB Chase Thomas, Stanford
164. Cleveland Browns (via 49ers)- S Zeke Motta, Notre Dame
173. Cleveland Browns (via Eagles)- RB Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina
237. Cleveland Browns (via 49ers)- WR Mark Harrison, Rutgers
-The Browns could look to trade back to regain the 2nd rounder they gave up last year for Josh Gordon, but assuming they stay where they are CB Dee Milliner makes the most sense. Pairing him up with Joe Haden would make that defensive backfield scary good. In the 3rd round I really like the idea of the Browns drafting a a potential play-making TE like Vance McDonald. Cleveland needs to get better production from the TE spot and I believe McDonald would be a perfect fit. Later I see a more defensive focused draft with them boosting their depth. I also could see the Browns make a play for Marcus Lattimore late in the draft. Cleveland doesn’t necessarily need a back-up RB this year, but next season their depth would be a question mark and that is when Lattimore should be back on the field.
