QB:
-Tyler Wilson of Arkansas had a rough day today. In all four of his throws during the 7 on 7’s he was off target. He first threw way behind his TE Rivera which went right into Nico Johnson’s stomach for an easy interception. Later he was way late on a throw to his right on an outside route which led to a pass break up from Marc Anthony. Later he looked to throw a slant route which was covered extremely well by Anthony again who was able to bat it away. Wilson tried throwing another slant route that was covered really well by B.W. Webb who was also able to slap it away. Those were bad reads on Wilson’s part. Wilson did have one nice throw during 11 on 11’s where he threw a nice high fade pass to Hamilton who made a good leaping catch over Webb for a touchdown.
-Landry Jones from Oklahoma had an inconsistent day to go with his inconsistent week. In 7 on 7’s Jones had a nice seam pass to Vance McDonald, but then followed it up with by throwing late into the middle of the field; it was completed to Mike Gilislee but he probably would have been sacked if it was an actual game. Jones then tried hitting Terrance Williams but his pass was broken up by B.W. Webb. In the 11 on 11’s Jones had a really nice back shoulder fade route throw to Terrance Williams who made a nice catch above his head.
-EJ Manuel had a nice day today. In 7 on 7’s he made a nice quick decision to throw it to Michael Williams in the middle of the field. The next play he had a nice pass down the seam to Mychal Rivera for a touchdown. Manuel then threw a low pass to Terrance Williams in the back of the end zone but Williams was able to make a nice diving catch for a TD. Manuel tried throwing a fade route but didn’t show much touch and over threw his target. In the 11 on 11’s Manuel found Michael Williams running down the seam wide open and hit him for a TD, Chase Thomas was the closest defender. Manuel then tried throwing a fade route but it was batted away by Robert Alford who had to leap high o get it.
WR/DB:
-Robert Alford from Southeastern Louisiana aside from his PD in 11 on 11’s looked pretty good during one on ones. He had great coverage on Cobi Hamilton who couldn’t separate; he later had a nice pass break up. Pretty strong week for Alford.
-Marc Anthony from Cal had a mixed day. He got his hands on a ball where he had good coverage on Connor Vernon on a slant route, but then couldn’t make a play on the ball on a fade route; Vernon made a nice one handed grab on the play. On another fade route he had god coverage on Terrance Williams but couldn’t locate the ball in time, Williams made a sneaky catch behind Anthony’s back.
– JJ Wilcox from Georgia Southern had a nice pass break up and then later was all over Quinton Patton.
-Tavarres King of Georgia had a drop early when running down the seam on a pass that was above his head. King later was able to toast Robert Lester on a nice slant route. In the 11 on 11’s King made a nice catch on an out route where he was able to tap his toes in bounds.
–Mychal Rivera from Tennessee had another strong day. He put on an inside move on Shawn Williams and used his body to shield him off to make the catch. Later he went up and snatched a fade pass from Manuel out of the air.
-B.W. Webb had a decent day. On one play Russell Shepard burnt him on a nice slant to fade route that had the small crowd impressed. Webb later was able to get his hand a ball to make a nice break up.
-Ryan Allen from Louisiana Tech did a great job of angling his punts inside the ten yard line.
