Vasyl Lomachenko: What next following another World title victory?
The Ukrainian boxer further cemented himself as the pound for pound best in the sport, with a ruthless display to beat Britain’s Luke Campbell on points. This meant he beat another Olympic Gold medallist and added the WBC lightweight title to his WBA and WBO belts. The 31 year old dropped his challenger in the 11th on the way to a comprehensive 119-108, 119-108, 118-108 on the scorecards. However, there was little doubt he had to work hard for the victory and this could just be the hardest fight to date in his professional career. He was very well supported from punters using the latest bet365 sign up bonus code, as he extended his winning record.

Lomachenko’s class proved decisive in the fight as Campbell suffered a third loss of his professional career. This also meant Lomachenko further extended his impressive record in just his 15th professional fight. He is also now a three-weight world champion, having held world titles at featherweight and super featherweight. He now has a record of 14 wins and one loss, with this coming through a split decision against Orlando Salido in just his second professional fight.
Lomachenko is widely regarded for his remarkable amateur career that saw him win 396 out of his 397 bouts. This loss he also avenged twice. He also won Olympic Gold medals in Beijing in 2008 and then followed up in London four years later. The Ukrainian also holds a number of records such as winning a world title in just his third professional fight. He also became a three weight champions by his 12th fight. Lomachenko has also competed for a world title in all of his professional bouts except on debut.
So what is next following this recent victory?
In his post-fight press conference he voiced how he was eager to unify all the belts, so this is likely to be his next step. This means a full unification at 135 against the IBF title holder, Richard Commey. However, Commey first has a mandatory title defence to make against Teofimo Lopez, so this unification is unlikely to take place in 2019.
Another future fight and one that is one of the biggest to be made in the sport is against unbeaten Gervonta Davis. The 24 year old has recently vacated both his WBA and IBF super featherweight titles and is now moving up to lightweight. This meant he is now ranked as the number one contender in the lightweight division. Signed by Mayweather Promotions, is this possibly a sign of intent that they are now looking to push through a fight with Lomachenko? Davis has a professional record of 22 wins and no losses, with 21 coming via knockout.
