Premier League title race continues…….
Since the start of the season it has all been about the duel between defending champions Manchester City and Liverpool for the title. Tottenham have also kept tabs on the pair but following their recent lose to Burnley, they now have it all to do. Here we cover the current odds of the leading sides and their key remaining fixtures as we move into the latter stages of the premier league season.
Defending champions Manchester city have now been pushed into a general 8/15 for the title, following their recent impressive form. This has proved a popular selection for those using offers on points-promo-code.com. This has seen them move to within one point of current leaders Liverpool, which is the smallest gap between the pair for some time. City are also just coming off the back of lifting the EFL cup recently, so will be full of confidence that they can further add to this.
The Champions league will be on the minds of the City players, as the second leg of their round of 16 clash with Schalke takes place in just a few weeks’ time. However in the remaining games of the season, they look to have three league matches that stand out as the most important. The first being the home clash with Tottenham at the end of April, which could be key with Tottenham continuing to push for the title themselves. The away clash with rivals Manchester United follows, and with United continue to improve under the new manager this could prove to be a very difficult game for City.
The game against Leicester at the start of may will be the second last game of the season, in which it is likely to still be little to separate both City and Liverpool. City have struggled against Leicester in recent years, which is why this remains a difficult encounter they are likely going to need to overcome if they are to lift the title again.
Liverpool on the other hand are really pushing for their first premier league title. They have still only lost once this current campaign, which was of course to Manchester City. They still hold the lead, and can be supported at a general 13/8 to hold on. They will also have one eye on the champions league, as they look to progress past a resurgent Bayern Munich side following the 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Liverpool look to have a difficult run of fixtures to bring an end to the season, that includes games against Tottenham, Chelsea and then the final game of the season against Wolves. These are all very dangerous sides to face, so it is certainly going to be a tough task for Liverpool if they are to win their first Premier league title.
