Things to Do While the NFL Is on Break

NFL Steve O Speak

Now that the off-season is hitting the country, NFL fans have a major shift in our downtime coming. After all, we all will miss the regular season. There’s nothing quite like the fun we have and bonds we forge with our friends and the other fans of football as we fight for our teams. But, as we are all reminded, there are still plenty of good times to be had even after the season is done.  While the NFL is on break for the year, here are a few ideas for how some of us might tackle those post-season blues.

Taking Time Out on the Green

During the past few months, while we have all been swept up in mid-season madness, I have definitely stepped off the green more than I meant to. But now, I’ll be heading out and trying to get my putt back to where it used to be. If you’re in the same boat, you might be considering upgrading your gear.

Grabbing new stuff for your favorite hobby is definitely worth the splurge. For those of you looking to get back into the swing of things, you might be wondering what are the best golf clubs. The great thing about the golf community is that, just like football, the fans always help each other and point everyone involved in the right direction. You can find plenty of online authorities for reviews, buyer’s guides, and resources on finding the best clubs.

Scout Out the Rising Stars Coming to the Field

Another fun off-season activity for when you’re tired of waiting for football is to check out the stats of some of the upcoming crop of players. Looking at some college player’s stats can be a fun way to get some insight into the next big star. It might even give you a big lead in your fantasy football league next year if you truly pick a winner.

Plus, looking at the new talent moving through the college league can give you a chance to reconnect with your alma mater, too. There is nothing like the excitement of being a part of something, whether it’s a professional fan base or the alumni network of your school.

Go Through Your Old Gear

Are you a memorabilia nut? Or maybe you’ve somehow collected a bunch of stuff through the years without even trying. Between the stuff you swore you needed when it came out, to the limited-edition merchandise you found, to the freebies they hand out at the games, you’ve probably got a million little things with the team’s logos on it.

If you sort through your collection, you are sure to find a gem or two. Sometimes you might even find something that’s a gem to someone else. The great part of going through old gear is that you can sell it to someone else and finance your seats for next season. Whether it’s a jersey, ticket stubs, or anything else, team swag means a lot to many fans. Maybe you’ll even find a treasured piece you forgot you owned and be able to give it a new life in your home.

No matter what you do postseason, you are sure to have a great time with whomever you spend it with. Just make sure to stay in the loop, so when pre-season comes, you can jump in with ease. It’ll be easy to keep busy while the season is off. But of course, if you are really itching to get started, you could always start a countdown till the first game day of next season…
