Fury v Wilder

Deontay Wilder

Wilder now 32 has been the rising force of American heavyweight boxing for some time. Born in Alabama, he is known as the ‘Bronze bomber’. He only turned to boxing at the age of 20, but quickly showed he was set to be a future star. Wilder won bronze at the 2008 Olympics as an amateur before turning professional the following year.

Wilder is another big character in the division, which is another reason why they have been able to sell this fight so well. He shot up the professional ranks before winning the WBC title in 2015. He has a professional record of 40-0-0 with 39 knockouts, which is why he is renowned as the biggest puncher in boxing. Wilder is also the 15^th longest reigning world heavyweight champion of all time. This style of matchups sets up for a fascinating contest this weekend.
