2015-16 NFL Futures Odds Update
After what has been one of the wildest starts to a NFL offseason ever, the landscape has shifted dramatically in terms of some of the biggest teams in the league.
We’ve discussed the headlines already: Ndamukong Suh to Miami, LeSean McCoy to Buffalo, the retirement of Chris Borland, Tim Tebow working out in Philadelphia… the list goes on and on. The reality is, all of these changes have made for quite a different atmosphere for the teams most competitive teams.
Sure, some classic names are the same as they ever were. The Green Bay Packers were almost completely silent in the offseason, taking care of theirs and remaining one of the strongest organizations in 2015. Other teams, however, like the Eagles, have seen their fortunes become less certain by shifting…well, almost their entire offensive personnel base.
The Super Bowl 50 odds listed at NFL betting site topbet.eu suggest Chip Kelly’s side has fallen out of the top tier of teams in the NFL, with the Colts, Patriots, Packers and Seahawks all considered much more likely to win the Lombardi Trophy in 2016.
The St. Louis Rams may be a team to watch based on these rankings. The Rams allowed just 16 points per game over their last six games of the season (a stretch that included San Diego, Arizona, and Seattle), a rate that would have ranked as second in the league had they maintained it over the course of a full season.
Now with the beast that is Nick Fairly lining up inside for the Rams, and a quarterback who is likely to stay on the field far more than Sam Bradford, this team may be more ready to challenge in the NFC West than many realize, a valuable position for a team that is still a very valuable +3,500 to win Super Bowl 50.
