FSU WR Tamorrion Terry moves up NFL draft prospect rankings

Only a few publications have been singing the praises of Florida State wide receiver Tamorrion Terry.

After all, Terry is a redshirt sophomore (but still eligible for the 2020 NFL draft) and is playing on a Seminoles team that recently fired its head coach due to its porous record.

But you’ll probably start seeing a lot more of Terry after his game against Boston College, in which he caught seven passes for 156 yards – both career highs – and one touchdown. Terry has now caught 40 passes for 802 yards and 7 TDs.

Furthermore, the firing of head coach Willie Taggart could mean the early exit of several draft-eligible players, including juniors DT Marvin Wilson, RB Cam Akers, S Hamsah Nasirildeen, and two redshirt sophomores, Terry and DT Cory Durden.

“A new coaching staff means more players at the least will explore declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft,” writes Tashan Reed of The Athletic.

Walter Football and Pro Football Network have been high on the 6-foot-4, 202 pound receiver most of the season. Prior to his big day, PFN said Terry “could be a steal in the April draft.”

“… Terry  has been a force this season,” writes NFL draft analyst Tony Pauline during PFF’s latest live blog. “He’s only a redshirt sophomore, however, with how porous FSU’s defense has been, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him declare this season. Terry has dominate physical traits and could be a mid-round steal for a team needing boundary receiver help.”

Likewise, Walter Football rates Terry as its No. 8 receiver, expected to go on Day 1 or 2 if he declares for the draft.

“Team sources are high on Terry’s potential with his excellent combination of size and speed. (He) … is fast for a big receiver and has athleticism.”
