5 Breakout Fantasy TEs in 2015

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles

Zach Ertz is a very talented player whose usage will dictate his fantasy value for 2015. He saw his snap count increase from 40.5% to 50.3% from his rookie year to his second year. Brent Celek was still getting starts and looks last year and it, but Ertz’s potential was seen in fantasy championship Week 16 when he caught 15 passes for 115 yards against the Washington Redskins. With Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy gone, Ertz should see more snaps and more passes come his way on way to a potential top 5 TE fantasy season.

Jordan Cameron, Miami Dolphins

Jordan Cameron was drafted extremely high in fantasy drafts last season after a 2013 breakout with the Browns. Concussions sidelines Cameron plenty last season, but he is out of Cleveland and into the potential high-powered Dolphins offense. Though Cameron is risky as one more concussion could be an end to his season, his athletic talents are incredible. While Charles Clay was more of a possession threat, Cameron can split the seam and make big plays both in his routes and after the catch. He also may be the Dolphins best threat in the red zone. Cameron has top 5 TE potential if he stays healthy.

Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals

Eifert has had a rocky road his first two years in the NFL, but with Jermaine Gresham moving on, Eifert has to be a key cog for the Bengals offense. After his elbow injury week 1 of last season, Eifert never made it back on the field. He has been declared 100% healthy and ready to be the starter for Cincinnati. Eifert has plenty of athletic talent plus he should be able to block well in line. Eifert is an unknown since the last two years for him have been a bust, but the talent dictates that this could be another 3^rd year breakout candidate.

Dwayne Allen, Indianapolis Colts

Dwayne Allen has dealt with a myriad of injuries in the NFL including a devastating back injury in 2013 and a high ankle sprain last season has led to less than desirable fantasy numbers. Allen did finish as TE9 last season despite missing time and appears to be the more talented when compared to Coby Fleener. Even with more receiving additions to the Colts, Allen’s blocking ability should keep him on the field and still make him a red zone threat. He can be had for pennies in most fantasy drafts and is worth looking at as a TE2 with potential to be a top ten TE again this season.

Ladarius Green, San Diego Chargers

With Antonio Gates suspended for the first four games, could this be the year that Ladarius Green finally breaks out? He has showcased elite athleticism in his limited usage the past few seasons, but Green never seems to get the snap count to warrant being on fantasy teams. The Chargers will be forced to use him as the starter for the first four games and perhaps this will push Green to be used enough to be fantasy relevant. Antonio Gates even said before the suspension that he wanted his snap count decreased, so this is the make or break year for Green. Snatch him up as a TE2 and see how he does Week 1. If he breaks out, you will be happy he was on your bench.
