Waiver Wire Pickups for Week Fourteen
Ryan Fitzpatrick put up some Peyton Manning type numbers against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans’ quarterback threw for 358 yards and six touchdown passes. Obviously this is not something fantasy owners should expect every week; however it should open some eyes. By this point in the season, there is always one or two owners in every league who have resort to rotating quarterbacks. Fitzpatrick should be there guy for week fourteen.
Tre Mason is looking more and more like the number one back in St. Louis each and every week. In the Rams’ 58-0 blowout over the Raiders, Mason rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked up an addition 47 yards and another touchdown through the air. He is only owned in 50 percent of fantasy leagues. That is going to change this week.
Colt McCoy
It looks like the Redskins are giving up on Robert Griffin III. That is good news for Colt McCoy. McCoy has really started a couple of games this season, but is really looking like a seasoned veteran. The career backup managed to throw for 392 yards and three touchdowns this weekend. With performances like this one it is going to be very hard for the coaching staff to be able to put RGIII back on the field. Best of all, McCoy’s performance came against a very good team. When quarterbacks show off potential against good teams, the fantasy community needs to listen.
Robert Woods’ numbers may not be blowing anyone away. However, he has been a reliable receiver this season in PPR formats. Watkins has been struggling lately which is forcing the Bills to rely upon Woods a bit more than they were in the beginning of the season. Fantasy owners would like to see him reach the end zone more often, which is why he has very limited value in standard scoring leagues. However, he can be a nice addition here towards the end of the season. Next week he will be going up against the Denver Broncos who are currently banged up in the secondary.
