Waiver Wire Pickups for Week Ten
Martavis Bryant is emerging as a big time red zone threat. Last weekend he became only the second player in the history of the NFL to catch five touchdowns in within the first three games of his career. Big Ben loves his new big target when the Steelers are within scoring range. Best of all, when the Steelers are in scoring range defenses focus all their attention on Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. Bryant is quickly emerging as a great flex starter option.

He is starting to go. Just a week ago Josh Gordon was only owned in about 10 percent of leagues. That number has jumped up to around 35 percent over this past weekend. This is your last chance to grab him. By the time leagues are done with their waiver wire draft for week ten, Gordon is going to be owned in almost every fantasy league across the country. If you need a dominant wide receiver you need to act fast.
Doug Martin was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Brown. Bobby Rainey was named the starter and tallied 20 touches throughout the game. With those touches he managed to post over 100 yards from scrimmage. Whether or not Doug Martin will return soon is anyone’s guess. Martin just has not been able to stay healthy this season so fantasy owners cannot trust he will return immediately. This is especially true with his injury. Martin is currently battling a ankle injury. Ankle injuries and running backs simply do not mix. They are very tricky for fantasy owners because nobody knows whether he will be out one game or five games. At this point Rainey is worth keeping on the bench at all times whether or not Martin is good to go. Rainey is showing he can carry the load well in place of the starter and the starter is showing that he cannot seem to stay on the field.

The Dolphins are starting to look like one of the best defenses in fantasy football.
The Miami Dolphins’ Team Defense has led all team defenses in fantasy point for the last two weeks in a row. The first week came against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Many fantasy owners just chalked that up to the Jags’ having a poor offense. However, this last weekend’s matchup was against the Chargers. The Chargers are one of the league’s best teams and have a veteran quarterback that knows how to get the job done. The Dolphins completely shut them down. Philip Rivers could not move the ball and the Chargers did not score a single point. This is the type of thing that should grab fantasy owners’ attention. It is looking like this defense is the real deal.
Shaun Suisham’s numbers have not been anything noticeable in the past couple games so why would he make this list? The answer is opportunities. With Big Ben playing as well as he is, Suisham is getting a lot of chance to kick PATs. Look back to last year. Matt Prater was the second highest scoring kicker in fantasy football because of his insane amount of PATs. These easy extra point attempts may not win matches, but they allow for consistency. If the Steelers offense continues to play the way they are Suisham is looking at five free fantasy points every game. That number does not include any field goals he makes. With those five free fantasy points and two field goals at any distance, Suisham tallies over ten points. Math is a beautiful thing sometimes. This is one kick where the math equals plenty of potential points.
