Week 11 Fantasy Surprise & Disapointment

Fantasy Surprise: Michael Floyd (WR)

The question of who is the starting receiver opposite Larry Fitzgerald is a riddle that was answered last week. Michael Floyd showcased his best game of the season with a career-high 193 receiving yards and one touchdown. The Cardinals inconsistent running attack really needs a second wide receiver to step up alongside Fitzgerald to generate enough points to help their stout defense win games.

Floyd is still a developing prospect in his second year out of Notre Dame but has shown significant improvement in his play this year. His targets have increased and if he’s able to continue reeling in catches, he’ll be a staple in the Cardinals offense with consistency.

Fantasy Disappointment: Reggie Bush (RB)

Reggie Bush has the unique ability to run, catch and move the ball in open space with exceptional vision and speed. Unfortunately, he only accumulated a combined 54 total yards on 2.6 yards per carry, two catches for 23 yards and lost a fumble. Most fantasy football owners starting Reggie Bush expected a decent output against a defense that has disappointed all season, on the contrary he performed well below his projections.

Bush’s lack of productivity didn’t seem to affect Calvin Johnson but it converted the Lions dual attack into a one-dimensional approach also known as, throw the ball to Calvin and hope he’s able to overcome double or triple coverage. Bush has been solid all season but fantasy owners still need to be aware of these hiccups in between productive games whether the opposing defenses are stout or on the decline.
