Start ’em Sit ’em Week 2
By Staff Writer Ryan Gerrity:
Each week here at Fanspeak I will tell you the players that you should start and sit for your fantasy team. These players are affected by the match ups that they have, injuries on the team, or even the expectations they have from coaches. Here is how I broke it down on who to start or sit.
1. Stevan Ridley, RB, New England Patriots The injury to Shane Vereen is crucial to the value the Patriots have on Ridley now, they will rely on him a lot this week.
2. Eli Manning, QB, New York Giants Forget the 6 turnovers last week against the Cowboys, Manning had 3 receivers over 100 yards. The Giants running game is in question so they will let Manning throw the ball early and often.
3. Darren McFadden, RB, Oakland Raiders The Raiders take on the Jaguars this week enough said.
4. Bears D/ST The Bears face the Vikings and Adrian Peterson will do some great things, but the Bears defense will have fun sacking and intercepting Ponder.
5. Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots The injury of Danny Amendola allows Edelman to fill that role this week against the Jets.
6. Terrelle Pryor, QB Oakland Raiders Pryor leads the league in rushing right now, expect more big numbers rushing this week against the Jaguars.
7. Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals The chemistry between Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald looks scary and it should continue this week.
8. Joique Bell, RB, Detroit Lions Two rushing touchdowns, only 25 rushing yards on six carries but also 67 receiving yards. Definitely start Bell in any PPR league.
Sit ‘Em:
1. Giants D/ST The Giants take on the Broncos this week, as the secondary of the Giants is questionable at best, Peyton could have a huge day.
2. DeMarco Murray, RB, Dallas Cowboys Last week Murray played well in the offense against the Giants, but this week the Cowboys are going to have to throw the ball a lot more to win the game.
3. Matt Schaub, QB, Houston Texans The Texans take on the Titans this week, but these Titans held Big Ben Roethlisberger to 200 yards passing.
4. Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Arizona Cardinals Bruce Arians did not trust Mendenhall with a lot of carries last week and that should continue.
5. Stevie Brown, WR, Buffalo Bills Brown did score a touchdown last week against the Patriots, but the Seahawks defense held all receivers last week to under 100 yards receiving.
