Online regulation in the casino industry

Steve O Speak online games

As online gambling has taken on the net in latest years, many questions regarding the morality and the legality of it’s surfaced. Today there are more licensed areas around the world than there have ever been, and it appears just like that tendency will continue until each market is controlled.

With regulation comes policies and rules to follow whose purpose is to defend the gambler and to make certain the companies work inside the law. Despite common belief, regulation invites more casinos and bookies to operate because many businesses choose not to participate if the law allows them to.
Online casinos in India has been able to observe the trend in Sweden and are adjusting accordingly. Most abide by the ruleset that is out there already and take proper steps to ensure that no player is harmed.

However, some casinos have even gone as far as shut down their Swedish casino, because the hassle wasn’t deemed profitable enough.

Gambling licenses in Sweden

People inside the industry will know that the regulation in Sweden has made it difficult for operators to stay inside the law. The reason behind this is due to the bonuses to taking appropriate steps to ensure no money has been laundered through their services all from offering numerous bonuses to take appropriate measures to ensure that no money is laundered by their services.

Whilst the online casino climate became stale in Sweden, the bottom line is the players are shielded from the greed of the operators. There were several reports of problem gamblers being offered VIP trips gambling regulators, mostly due to how efficient they were at spending money on their casino. This behaviour is deemed predatory by many gambling regulators and with good cause, if we assume that the casino managers know that the players are experiencing problems with their gambling.

The MGA

The Malta Gaming Authority is another very well known regulator since most of the online casinos out there are based in Malta.

Except for the obvious tax purposes, the island has become somewhat of a Scandinavian hub for online businesses.

The problem with all of these different regulators is that some markets will remain in the grey market without regulators, since the regulators can’t force their laws into another country.

The bottom line is that whilst gambling regulators try their best to protect the players, the only one who can really decide their fate is the gamblers themselves. It is best to be proactive and seek help, even if you are just starting out gambling.
