What Makes The NFL So Exciting?

Steve Shoup

Many people have referred to baseball as being America’s favorite pastime. There is no denying that baseball is a diverse and exciting sport, but if this is true then you might as well consider the NFL to be America’s sport. Just check out the TV rankings during the NFL season. You will see that NFL views top the charts on both Monday and Sunday nights. Yes, the sport has encountered many ups and downs over the years, but the game has never lost its magic. There really is just something about the NFL season that continues to make it so exciting after all these years.

Great Athletes

No sports fans can deny the fact that every sport has and will always have its slew of impressive athletes. This is even more so true when it comes to football because the athlete’s skills vary so much from player to player. For instance, on any given football team you can find a talented wide receiver that can cover 40 yards in a little over four seconds or a lineman that can easily bench near 250 pounds 30 times or more. This is not to get into the defensive side of things.

All these athletes come together every Sunday and Monday night just to vie for the right to be considered the better team. Every athlete on the field is great in his own right and do something totally surprising or unexpected at any moment. The magic that these athletes bring to the field is still there each and every game day.

The Potential For Amazing Plays

It would be a sane argument to say that every sport offers the chance for amazing plays. After all, this is one of the main reasons that people tune into sports. That being said, football along with the NFL has something different to offer. Yes, the rules and regulations surrounding the sport have changed over the years. Anyone that turned into a game today would notice that there is a yellow flag called every other play. This might be a new part of football, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t always an opportunity for exciting plays. What’s even more intriguing with football is the fact that the defense can always score.

All it takes is a loose football, an interception, or a blocked kick and the defense could put points on the board. There aren’t many sports that offer this kind of diverse playing field, but football is one of them and that is just one more thing that makes it the most amazing sport on this planet.

The Action Is Real

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past decade or so there is a good chance that you have noticed the rise of popularity in online gambling. More and more players are going online these days to place bets and gamble. This is especially true when it comes to football. Just go back and look at the amount of money that was brought in with various online sportsbooks during the Super Bowl. The online sector brought in more money than the land-based sector by far. And, it is easy to understand why. With sites like online free pokies people can gamble and place bets with trusted sites right from the comfort of their own homes.

You combine this with the types of bets and live streams that are available and you are truly looking at the whole gambling experience. In fact, you wouldn’t get this kind of treatment when visiting a land-based casino to place bets. Betting action is not just big during the Super Bowl it is as equally big during the season and pr-season.

It’s An Ordeal Every Week

When football season is in it is literally like a holiday every Sunday. Fans from all around the world come together and converge on the couches and recliners to watch the games. It doesn’t even have to be their preferred teams. Fans will just tune in to catch up on the action and watch potential future matchups. Heck, fans don’t just tune in to watch the game. Most of the time, most dedicated fans tune into the pre-game show and check highlights of other games when they see the chance.
