Ichiro Accepts Pillow Fight War Challenge From Rangers Mascot

MLB Steve O Speak

Ichiro Suzuki has become a well-known face in baseball, mostly for his outstanding achievements on the field. After retiring at 44 from playing for the Seattle Mariners, he moved into the front office to continue is illustrious baseball career.

However, Ichiro surprised both the fans and the Rangers mascot on Sunday when he became embroiled in a pillow fight with the Rangers horse mascot. Rangers Captain challenged Ichiro to a pillow fight and whilst Ichiro didn’t hit the mascot with the power of a homerun hit, he certainly wasn’t going to back down from the challenge.

Other baseball news today

Dodgers have broken their HR record during their victory against San Diego Padres – they now have a National League leading 222, one more than their record from last season with seven games left to play.

Meanwhile the Indians have also been making history this weekend, by having four pitchers reach 200 strikeouts in one season. Mike Clevinger joined Carlos Carrasco, Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber to become the first quartet to achieve the amazing feat. Clevinger did this during the team’s win over Red Sox.

It is bad news for Didi Gregorious and the Yankees, as their shortstop tore cartilage in his wrist and could be out for the rest of the year. This is a huge blow for the player who has hit 27 home runs this season.

Charlie Morton has also suffered an injury scare and had to leave the field on Sunday after playing one inning, as he complained of feeling pain in his right shoulder. Astros will be hoping that he has a speedy recovery.

Jose Bautista has announced that he wants to continue playing in 2019 and that he is looking to sign with a contender when he becomes a free agent in the off-season.
