Maybe if Rashard Lawrence was a few inches taller, there would be more draft buzz about the senior defensive tackle for LSU.

No matter now – after last weekend’s performance against Alabama, Lawrence should get plenty of attention. The 6-foot-2, 308-pound senior had 4 tackles, half a sack and two passes broken up in the team’s 46-41 win. It was No. 1 LSU’s first win against Alabama in eight seasons.

Lawrence was awarded for his efforts this week after he was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.

“… (His) numbers were nothing fantastic … but the ability to penetrate the line of scrimmage allowed Lawrence’s teammates to make plays, many which impacted the game in favor of LSU,” writes Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline. “Lawrence showed tremendous quickness, intensity, and versatility.”

Lawrence is currently ranked as the No. 30 overall prospect in the latest Fanspeak On the Clock rankings.

“Even before the game Lawrence was receiving a lot of positive talk in the scouting community and that will only grow after today,” Pauline says.
