The Panthers are in an interesting spot as they could stay where they are and end up with arguably the best non-QB in this class. Pitts is a special talent, but few TEs in the league are comparable to say the top receivers or offensive tackles in the league. Add in team needs and it wouldn’t be shocking to see Pitts slide a bit. The Panthers though are a team that absolutely need a quality TE and here luck out with a franchise one.
The Panthers last year spent their entire draft on the defensive side of the ball, this year they spend the majority on the offensive side to balance it out. After Pitts, Leatherwood can be an instant starter and Myers and Banks could both compete as rookies. Trask gives the Panthers a fall back if the Sam Darnold experiment doesn’t work out. This is a lot of talent to reshape this offense and put around McCaffrey, Anderson and Moore.
