2012 NFL Draft SCOUTING REPORT – S Mark Barron:

Measurables:

Height:  6’1”

Weight: 213

Pros:

  • Good size and speed
  • Big hitter and a sure tackler
  • Above average ball skills
  • Good coverage skills
  • Has the potential to continue to get better

Cons:

  • Has disappeared in games at times
  • Will need to show he can handle NFL level tight ends

Analysis:

Barron is the top safety in this class and the only one truly capable of being a1stround prospect. He profiles as a more traditional strong safety, with good ball and coverage skills. I wouldn’t say he’s an ‘elite’ safety, though he does have the potential to get to that level, but he’s a safe bet to be pretty good.
