Good as Gould

Chicago Bears

By Guest Writer Tommy Nelson:

The best kicker in the NFL right now is Robbie Gould. There is not even an argument to be made that you wouldn’t want him as your kicker. Thursday night against the Giants he tied a record of most consecutive made 50+ yard field goals, on his 52 yarder last night. He is also 10/10 this season thus far. Over his career he has an 86.2% accuracy rating. He’s known to be absolutely money from 40 yards in, and over the past few seasons he has added the deep kicking ability to his resume.

Now some will argue that he isn’t the best, because the best can kick with the game on the line. Playoff games especially. Well let me hit you with this stat, Gould back in 2010 was a perfect 6/6 in the field goal department. Four of which came between 40-49 yards, those aren’t chip shots by any means. Gould also has kicked 12 game tying or winning field goals in his career. So for the naysayers out there, please tell me who you would rather have kicking the game winning field goal, as time runs out?
