3 Players I like for the Jets at Pick 9

Jets Draft New York Jets

It has been a few years since the New York Jets have had a top 10 pick. The last few have not gone well with Vernon Gholston (huge bust) and Mark Sanchez (most hated Jet in Jets history). This year, I am feeling good about this pick. Here are 3 guys I am hoping will be available for the Jets at pick 9.

1) Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama

I do not feel like he will be here but if he is, the Jets better take him. A few years ago the Jets drafted Corner Back Kyle WIlson out of Boise State late in the 1st round. He has shown signs but is not living up to the hype. I like him much better as a 3rd corner in nickel situations. If they Jets trade Revis (highly rumored) or Cromartie (speculation but may make sense if they decide to resign Revis), this  pick just makes sense.

2) Ezekiel (Ziggy) Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU

This would be my dream pick but I also do not believe he will be available. I fell in love with his ability after I watched him at the Senior Bowl  stopping the run and then at the NFL Combine. This guy does not have a lot of playing experience but he has all the potential in the world. Kind of like Jason Pierre Paul did. Another guy I would settle for here is Dion Jordan, the defensive end from Oregon. Jarvis Jones kind of scares me here because of his past injury.

3) Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan

He was in the Jets pick range a few weeks ago but now he may be out of their range as well. He has some experience at right tackle and guard and may have the most upside for an offensive lineman in this draft. It is not a fancy pick, but this would be a huge one for the Jets. The offensive line use to be a strong part of the jets but the past few years they have struggled with the exception of Fergusan, Mangold, and Moore (Moore is a free agent).

I have seen in mock drafts that the Jets may be interested in picking up a wide out but they should wait till the 4th round or so for that. I like the receivers they have with Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley (who I believe can be a star), and Stephen Hill (second round pick who has the talent much drops some passes). They will also likely pick up someone in free agency like Braylon Edwards.

The Jets biggest needs are a pass rusher, offensive tackle, and safety. If they resign Laron Landry and Yeremiah Bell then they are fine, but they should look to get younger.

One thing is for sure, April cannot come soon enough.
