2012 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis:

Measurables:

Height: 6’11”

Weight: 222

Position: Power Forward

School: Kentucky

Class: Freshman

Stats: 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.7 blocks

Pros:

-Strong Rebounder and shot blocker

-Very Good Athlete for his size

-Can defend both inside and outside the paint

-Long Wing span

-Mature for his age

-Has elite potential

Cons:

-Needs to add weight to his frame to hold up versus more physical defenders

-Will need to develop additional moves to succeed at the next level

Analysis:

Davis was the college basketball player of the year for good reason. Wow his counting stats won’t wow you, he completely would take over games as other teams simply couldn’t go inside on him. Davis has every thing you look for in a top overall pick: Size, Length, Work Ethic, defensive ability, offensive game, toughness. He should be an excellent pick for the Hornets at number one and quickly reward them by becoming an All-Star caliber player. He’ll need to add a little bulk when he goes up against strong 4’s and 5’s, but otherwise he’s NBA ready. Which is highly impressive, and why Anthony Davis is a lock to go number 1.
