Start ‘Em

Pierre Garcon

Pierre Garcon was not targeted much in Monday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. On the bright side he did catch all four balls he was thrown. By the end of the game Colt McCoy started showing a lot of potential. This is a good thing for any receiver on the Washington Redskins. However with the way things are going right now, it appears that DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed have surpassed Garcon as the team’s main receiving targets. This weekend the Redskins will be taking on the Minnesota Vikings. This is a perfect opportunity for Garcon to put some fantasy points on the board. The Redskins are going to try to keep things simple for whomever their quarterback is and this will mean a lot of high percentage passes. That equates to a good number of touches for Garcon.

He is expected to return. You should expect big things. He has posted over 100 receiving yards in every game he has played this season.

A.J. Green

Mohammad Sanu has filled A.J. Green’s role nicely. After last Sunday’s game, Green stated that he will be playing in this weekend’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is an excellent opportunity for Green to have a big time comeback. The Jaguars have allowed a ton of fantasy points to wide receivers and Green is one of the most talented in the league. Even if he is not at 100 percent he is still a starter anytime he is in a game.

 Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald exploded in the Cardinals’ win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran caught seven of ten passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. The unfortunate thing is most fantasy owners probably had him on their bench. Fitzgerald has not been producing the same way he once did. For those of you hitting your head against the wall after his huge game, you still have a chance to get some production out of him. This weekend the Cardinals will be facing the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys may look like one of the better teams in the leagues, but that is not because of their defense. The defense does just enough to not ruin the game. This could mean great things for Larry for the second week in a row.

Sit ‘Em

Jennings' status for week nine is up in the air. With the lack of time to prepare, Coughlin may not start him.

Jennings’ status for week nine is up in the air. With the lack of time to prepare, Coughlin may not start him.

Rashad Jennings

Rashad Jennings was expected to return in week nine. At this point it looks like that may not be the case. Tom Coughlin has already stated that Jennings is not ready to return. This will be a game time decision, but Jennings does not have enough practice under his belt to expect much. He just started cutting on Tuesday. This is one headache to avoid this week.

 Lamar Miller

Lamar Miller has turned out to be one of the true sleepers in fantasy football this season. He was drafted in the very late rounds by a number of fantasy owners in hopes that he would compete for the starting job with Knowshon Moreno. Moreno goes out and Miller has turned into a solid second running back. However this is not a week to count on him. The Chargers have been a great football team this year and have not allowed many fantasy points to running backs. More than likely if you have Miller you have another decent option to start in his place. Choose that option.

 Travis Kelce

Nothing about Travis Kelce looks good for week nine. Alex Smith strained his back last weekend which means he may not be able to play this week. If that is the case Kelce’s value takes a major hit. On top of that, the Kansas City Chiefs are going up against the New York Jets. This is a trap matchup for fantasy owners. The Jets have not played very good football on either side of the ball this season. However, they are good at one thing. They shut down tight ends. The Jets have given up the fourth least amount of fantasy points to tight ends this season.
