Start ‘Em

Last wee we saw the Tom Brady we are all use too. We should see more of that this weekend.

Last wee we saw the Tom Brady we are all use too. We should see more of that this weekend.

Tom Brady

Tom Brady exploded in week six for 361 passing yards and four touchdowns. It reminded fantasy owners that Brady still has something left in his tank. He went into that game listed as questionable with an ankle injury. He should maintain his questionable injury status going into this week’s game against the New York Jets. Being that he is a Patriot, being listed as questionable really does not have any meaning. The team is famous for saying players are banged up and then playing then. Brady should definitely being started this week. The Jets have let up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

 Justin Forsett

Justin Forsett is making a very strong case for claiming the title of breakout fantasy star of the year. He has already posted over 500 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns this season. He posted his first 100 rushing yard game last weekend. This weekend he will be facing the Atlanta Falcons who have been very generous to fantasy running backs so far this season. By this point, Forsett has already shown he is definitely worth starting every week. This weekend he has the potential to put up first running back type numbers.

 Andre Ellington

Andre Ellington is a player who has neither disappointed nor impressed fantasy owners this season. So far he has compiled over 450 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. He is proving to be a strong starter, but still is not to the point where he can carry a fantasy team. This weekend may prove to be different. The Cardinals will be taking on the Oakland Raiders. Expect the Cardinals to go up early and then rely on Ellington to run out the clock.

Sit ‘Em

 Zac Stacy

Zac Stacy owners need to be worrying right now. He was only given eight handoffs in Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams were really spreading the ball around in the back field. They got a lot better production from both Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason. This does not bode well for Stacy, who may once again see less carries this weekend. The Rams will be hosting the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks’ defense is just too good to trust anyone on the Rams’ offense. On top of that, the Seahawks’ offense has also looked pretty good this season. If the Seahawks get an early lead, the Rams might abandon the run. Until Stacy sees another game of getting at least 20 carries he should ride the bench.

Patterson has been disappointing so far this season. He cannot be trusted right now.

Patterson has been disappointing so far this season. He cannot be trusted right now.

Cordarrelle Patterson

Cordarrelle Patterson was supposed to be this season’s biggest fantasy sleeper. He definitely has been sleeping so far. After a great performance in week one, Patterson has failed to score and failed to be targeted enough to make him a real threat in fantasy football. In the first week of the season he rushed for over 100 yards. Since then he has only carried the ball twice. Last weekend he did not take a single handoff. This weekend the Vikings will be facing the Buffalo Bill on the road. Buffalo is going to be pretty cold this weekend and the Vikings are used to playing in a dome. This does not seem like a game that will be ripe for the pacing game.

 Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce has been a pleasant surprise this season. He has emerged as the number one receiving threat on the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense. With the style of offense the Chiefs play, Kelce is getting a lot of opportunities to put up fantasy points. This weekend may be one week to stay away from him though. The Chiefs are going to be taking on the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have been very good on defense this season aside from last week’s sad performance. Do not expect that poor play to happen two weeks in a row. The Chargers have a lot of veterans on that side of the ball who just will not allow two poor weeks to happen back to back. Kelce may be hard to sit, especially in deeper leagues. If you must start him, then keep him in the lineup. However, if there is another viable option out there it would be wise to take advantage of it.
