Remember that Monday night football game where the New England Patriots got completely blown out by the Kansas City Chiefs? Seems like forever ago right? They have completely turned their season around since then and have won 5 straight games in a row. Why? How? The offense is rolling
Here are a few reasons why:
1) Tom Brady: Through the first 4 games of the season, Tom Brady never threw over 250 yards in a game. Over his last 5 games, he has thrown over 250 yards in ALL 5 of those games. He had 292 yards against the Bengals, 361 yards against the Bills, 261 yards against the Jets, 354 ayrds against the Bears, and 333 yards against the Broncos. Those are all pretty respectable defenses too.
2) The Offensive Line: The pass protection on the offensive line has been great the past 5 weeks. In the first 4 weeks, Tom Brady was scrambling a lot and taking some hard hits. The rushing offense can get a little better but the pass protection has been fantastic.
3) Play-makers are stepping up: We all know Brady has loved throwing to Julian Edelman. But over this win streak Gronk has been unstoppable again and Brandon LaFell has really stepped up as the deep threat that this team needs. Gronk has had over 100 yards receiving in 3 of those 5 games.
