Redskins Weekly: Which Player would you want for the Redskins?

Redskins Offseason Redskins Personnel Washington Commanders

I was listening to a local radio show and the question was if the Redskins could take one player from each of the final four teams who would you take?  So here are my thoughts on who I would take.

Carolina- I think 90% of the people in the DMV would say Josh Norman but not me.  He would be my third choice off the Panthers roster and maybe fourth.  I think this team could really use either of the defensive tackles you will see Sunday.  But my choice is simple and it is Cam Newton.  I know everyone expects Kirk to be back but you can’t pass on a guy like Newton at his age.  It is the quarterback position and passing on getting Newton would be a crime even with Cousins.

Arizona- One thing we know about the Redskins is they have needed a legit top safety for years now.  Like 10 years unfortunately.  So I would go right for Tyrann Matheiu to fill that void.  Even coming off the ACL and his past troubles he is too good to pass up.  Calais Campbell would be a tough pass and of course so would Patrick Peterson.  Matheiu may end up being defensive MVP this season and with the state of the NFL offenses he is a player of the future.

New England- Only would pass on Brady because I am taking Newton.  Three to four years of Brady with Washington still would be amazing.  The player for me is pretty obvious and that is Gronk.  Even with Jordan Reed on this roster I would take him first.  Who is going to stop these guys together?  And since both can make plays wide outs make you could clearly run them both together.  And it is worth the entertainment value also.

Denver- Peyton Manning it is.  Joking.  The only guy on the once touted Denver offense I would consider is Thomas but going to pass and look at the defensive side.  So it has to be someone on the defense.  Demarcus Ware is still good but too old for this team.  I might go with Chris Harris Jr. and would probably have him a close second.  TJ Ward would help at the safety hole but he is more of  strong safety and think we need a free.  So it is pretty obvious and would be Von Miller.  He would fill the much needed role of getting to the passer even with past off the field issues.  Good news is they may actually have a chance at the soon to be free agent.  Unless Denver can sign or fit the franchise salary in.
