Redskins Weekly: Biggest game of the season

Washington Commanders Washington Redskins Keys to the Game Washington Redskins Post Game Recap

1- First it was winning a road game.  Then can they win two in a row and they did.  Now can they win a prime time game?

We will get to that later but a quick recap of the dominating win over the Bills.  I had a good feeling that DeSean Jackson would own the Bills defense and he did.  Best of all it put some money in my pocket Draft Kings style!  Rex Ryan is a joke and it showed again.  But I am impressed that the Redskins took advantage from the beginning.  I think we have to give Jay Gruden and his staff a lot of credit now for the way his team usually comes out from the opening whistle.  Dallas wasn’t pretty but they are good at this.  Good thing is that they are starting to do this to start the second half also.

Who impressed me?  For starters Kirk Cousins has to be at the forefront.  He did exactly what he had to do to dice up a struggling Bills defense.  And it helped to have another strong showing from his boy Jordan Reed.  Reed not only has the best voice in the NFL but is becoming one of the top tight ends.  And it is a crime that Reed is an alternate for the Pro Bowl.  Nothing against Travis Kelce but he is stealing Reed’s spot.  In the end, Reed will probably make it to Hawaii with either Gronk or Greg Olsen having a good chance to make the Super Bowl.  Congrats to Trent Williams for making it.  Please don’t take a champagne bottle to the head this time!

2- Here we go.  The biggest game for the Redskins since 2012.

I won’t add anymore about 2012.  Well, it would be nice if Kirk plays like he did in Cleveland in 2012.  That’s it.  Like the Redskins you never know what Eagles team will show up.  One of the things the Redskins have been killed by in past Eagles games are the special teams.  But now we have Dustin Hopkins who has been a huge addition and is a Pro Bowler to me based on the difference he has made.  So punt coverage is going to be the thing we have to watch.  Easy way to go would be to not punt and score on most drives.

The first game the Skins had to drive the distance to win late but they outplayed the Eagles in my opinion.  The Eagles benefitted from Chris Culliver trying to play Superman while injured and getting scorched.  Won’t be a factor this time.

So let’s get up early and let the Eagles’ wonderful fans take over and turn on Kelly and the Eagles.  Probably won’t see Byron Maxwell but probably want him out there.  More important is we might not see Bennie Logan and you know the Redskins will want to get their anemic run game going.  I think this game could go so many ways but going to say the Redskins take it…27-16.
