Redskins Weekly: Trying to Win Two in a Row

Washington Commanders Washington Redskins Keys to the Game Washington Redskins Post Game Recap

1- I picked against the Redskins in Chicago so I have to admit I am a bit surprised.

But about 30 minutes into the game I really looked stupid as the Skins came out and worked the Bears from the opening kickoff.  Things would get tight but in the end the Redskins finally won a road game.  So now that the road losing issue has been halted, now can they pull off back to back wins?  Will get to that in a second.

I think the biggest positive from the game was the dominating performance of Jordan Reed.  We all knew Reed was good but still were petrified that he wouldn’t be able to stay on the field to show that.  It is still a concern but for now Reed has become a top three tight end in the league.  I would say that only Gronk and Greg Olsen should get more consideration for All Pro tight end.  Maybe his blocking isn’t the best but he is in sync with Kirk Cousins week in and week out.

Are any other players playing at a Pro Bowl trip level?  If you take out the Chicago game I am sure Trent Williams will be going after the season.  Even with Chicago he should be a lock.  But other than that I am not sure you could make any case for anyone else.  Maybe Cousins has an outside chance to go if a large group of QBs drop out like most seasons.  You could say that for Kerrigan and maybe Breeland also.  Tress Way maybe?  But I am not completely up on the best NFC punters.

2- So now the Redskins are looking to win back to back games in the crazy NFC East race.

They do have the easiest opponent of the three teams battling this weekend for sure.  But the Bills are no pushover.  I think the Bills are the better team here based on talent for sure.  I think only Larry Michael will be giving the Redskins all the checks in his weekly pick.  Tyrod Taylor is 19 to 4 touchdowns to interceptions which I found both impressive and crazy.  Shady McCoy has been a real tough stop for the Skins and now Sammy Watkins is done whining and really playing well as of late.

But the Bills shoot themselves in the foot with penalties so it will be big to have a true home field advantage Sunday.  And I am not a Rex Ryan guy at all.  The defense is worse under him than it was last year.  And he is supposed to be a defensive genius.  Crazy to say this but I feel we have a true coaching advantage here.  And the Bills crushing loss last week could make it a situation where they are in a give-up mode.  I doubt it but have to take it into consideration.

I got then Redskins 27 Bills 24
