Redskins 2013 Undrafted Free Agents:

Redskins Personnel Washington Commanders

The Washington Redskins just announced their undrafted free agent signings so far:

PLAYER POSITION HEIGHT WEIGHT COLLEGE
Jacolby Ashworth OL 6’3″ 300 Houston
Marvin Burdette LB 5’11” 230 Alabama Birmingham
William Compton LB 6’2″ 230 Nebraska
Skye Dawson WR 5’9″ 183 Texas Christian
Jeremy Kimbrough LB 5’11” 240 Appalachian State
Xavier Nixon OL 6’6″ 314 Florida
Emmanuel Ogbuehi TE 6’3″ 235 Georgia State
Chip Reeves WR 5’10” 176 Troy
Tevita Stevens OL 6’3″ 300 Utah
Jason Thompson WR 6’3″ 190 New Haven
Kyle Wilborn OL 6’4″ 299 Troy
Nick Williams WR 5’10” 184 Connecticut

It’s not surprising to see so many wide receivers, linebackers and offensive linemen. Those are three of the biggest positions to head in to camp each year. At wide receiver the Redskins only had six guys under contract before these signings, so this gives them the depth they need for camp. Along the offensive line the Redskins are likely going to have a wide open right tackle battle. While it is unlikely any of these guys will compete for that, who wins the battle could possibly open up some spots for depth. As for linebacker the Redskins could use some depth, especially with Rob Jackson facing a 4 game suspension and guys like Brian Orakpo and Keenan Robinson returning from injuries.

Of the guys listed above the most intriguing are OL Xavier Nixon and Kyle Wilborn, WR Nick Williams and Jason Thompson, and LB’s Will Compton and Marvin Burdette. Nixon probably has the best overall shot to make the team, as he flashed a lot of promise at Florida and was definitely a draftable late round prospect.
