Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards

Marquee match-up tonight with HUGE lottery implications. Both teams are 23-53 on the season, so get ready for some serious draft posturing. I hear Blatche might be out with a stuffy nose, and Steph Curry broke out with a few pimples this morning, so he’s also a scratch.
But in reality, I could only wish this were true because the Wizards are so bad that they don’t need to try to tank. Half their team is D-League caliber as it is, and they legitimately lost sixteen in row while out-hustling nearly every team they faced.
Some may wonder why I would ever waste my time watching games like these, but here’s why: The Warriors are always fun to watch no matter how bad they are — they’re like the Phoenix Suns but terrible. They run up and down the court, score almost at will, and they do so with a bright young nucleus with serious star potential. Unfortunately they give up 130 points a night, so they’re continual losers, but unarguably fun to watch.
And for the Wizards: I like watching Blatche become a good player. And by good I mean good — not the next Kevin Garnett as some myopic Wizards homers like to believe (and that may include Flip Saunders). I also enjoy watching the hilarity JaVale McGee — easily one of the dumbest players in the NBA with the most natural ability. Against Houston the other night he scored something like 13 points in four minutes, and then he’ll follow that up by picking up four fouls in twelve minutes. The guy is one of a kind.
I think that’s all for now…
