DAILY DISCUSSION: NFC East Woes

November 7, 2012 in NFL

Yesterday we had a poll about which NFC East team was most in trouble. So let's eloraborate…

Will the Giants win the division by simply being the best of the worst?  Will the Eagles and Cowboys have to blow things up after this season (new coach & QB)?  Will the Redskins keep the Shanahans another season if he does not improve on his dismal 5-11 or 6-10 previous records?

Can any of these teams turn it around to have an impressive last 7 games?  Lots of questions and concerns for all of the NFC East. And now they have a lot of in-conference games, so it gets really interesting as to which team is the worst.

    In my humble opinion…

Will the Giants win the division by simply being the best of the worst?
Yes, and no. They will win the division because they are a solid football team. Their defensive line is scary, and Eli Manning can be explosive.

Will the Eagles and Cowboys have to blow things up after this season (new coach & QB)?
Hopefully, the Eagles use their early draft picks to choose offensive linemen. They are really, really hurting in that department, and if Vick has time, maybe he won't make as many mistakes.

Will the Redskins keep the Shanahans another season if he does not improve on his dismal 5-11 or 6-10 previous records?
I am shocked he is still the Redskins' coach. Giving up halfway through the year is obviously unacceptable. If it is still mathematically possible to make the playoffs, and people are paying to see your team, you cannot start talking about rebuilding until it's time to do so. Get that idiot out of there.

Can any of these teams turn it around to have an impressive last 7 games?
If you ask anyone but their coach, the Redskins are still a viable team. So are the Giants.

I actually think the Giants are a pretty good team, everyone else is a mess right now.

And i agree i'm a little shocked about Shanahan as well, i'm hoping to do an indepth piece on the whole picture about Shanny and the Redskins.

at least he refuted the statements that reporters implied he was giving up on season. He did what I hoped and said that's ludicrious and he's all in for this season and wants players to play each game like its single elimination playoffs. He made up for it with his press conference Monday. But its now how he handles the bye, the Eagles game and rest of season that will determine if he should get another season chance or not!
