Daily Discussion: Rookie Quarterback Success

November 5, 2012 in Uncategorized

At the mid-way point three of the five rookie quarterbacks have a .500 record or better. How much of this early success can be attributed to these rookie quarterbacks? And could we have at least two of them make the post season?

As far as how much of their team's success can be attributed to them, I would say a lot. Consider the Colts last year: hilariously bad. Or the Redskins: You surely know more about the situation, but I know a lot fans were worried about how much we traded away to get RG3, which tells me they probably didn't gain much talent outside of the QB position. I'd say those two, especially, are going to make history before they hang it up.

whoops, by "we" I meant the Redskins.

agree, though very impressed with Ryan Tannehill as well. They don't have much in way of weapons yet he seems to keep getting better each week.

Russell Wilson has to get a lot of credit. He is winning in the tougher NFC and when I took a look at his numbers I didn't expect to see how solid they are so far. Hip hip hooray for shorty qb's!

I love RG3 and think he is going to be an amazing QB! I just hope the Skins don't hold him back bc they can't put talent around him.
You have to wonder what the Redskins would look like next year if they wouldn't have traded everything away to get Griffin and took Tannehill. If we would have got a great CB or RT this year in 2nd? What about 2 1st rounders next 2 years.
I hope Griffin can overcome the lack of talent elsewhere to make it worth it. And Redskins are going to have to cut more dead /expensive weight this offseason, and hit on a very high percentage of draft picks and free agents.
