DAILY DISCUSSION: NCAA Basketball Top 5
February 8, 2012 in Uncategorized by Steve Shoup
As we turn to basketball and approach the conference tournaments & March Madness, we ask…which of the top 5 teams will be the team left out and NOT get a #1 seed in the tournament? Or do you think a couple could fall and not get #1 seed?
Here’s the rankings from ESPN.com:
| AP Top 25 | |||
| RK | TEAM | RECORD | PTS |
| 1 | Kentucky (63) | 23-1 | 1,623 |
| 2 | Syracuse (2) | 23-1 | 1,553 |
| 3 | Ohio State | 20-3 | 1,493 |
| 4 | Missouri | 21-2 | 1,415 |
| 5 | North Carolina | 20-3 | 1,352 |

In my mind, Kentucky, Syracuse and Ohio State have separated themselves from the pack. The fourth No. 1 seed goes to Missouri, UNC, Duke or maybe another team. But, in the end, this could be a year with two or three No. 1 seeds in the Final Four. But there’s about another month of games left, so we’ll see.
No Manning to Skins talk? Kentucky is the best team and they proved that last night again. I hate Calipari and hope his team once again chocks come tournament time but I think this is the year he finally wins. Then 90 days later we find out he is under investigation. Syracuse is a loaded crew to but I don’t see them taking down KY. Right now, Ohio St is balling but the one team I can see coming together as the tourney comes up is UNC. Way too big inside and a solid point guard. I would consider them the 4th #1 seed after the most likely roll Duke tonight.
I think UNC will be the fourth #1 seed as well, and also agree this could be a year where the final 4 has 3 #1 seeds! These teams are good!
Ha…we’re trying to resist Manning to Skins talk…every other media outlet is taking care of that!
