DAILY DISCUSSION: NFL Playoffs – Quarterbacks
January 20, 2012 in Uncategorized by Steve Shoup
Pressure is on…four quarterbacks…only two make it to the Super Bowl! Two have met there before…will they again? The other two are sometimes called “game managers”….will they be the ones to head to Indy? Or maybe its a combination…which two quarterbacks do you think will meet in the this year’s Super Bowl?
And do you think Tom Brady and Eli Manning missing a practice this week will play any role in their performances on Sunday?

Tom Brady and Eli Manning will both play this week. Brady is having an amazing season, maybe his best ever, and will help his team past a very good Ravens squad. Alex Smith was the top pick in the draft and is just coming on, albeit a bit later than many folks expected. I think the 49ers will win and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since Steve Young was under center.
Brady missing practice will have no effect on him or the team, why should it he wasn’t really injured. Eli may have a problem he needs consistency and missing practice time may throw his timing off. These stomach problems tend to zap your strength so Eli may have another of his off games.
I look to see Brady and the Patriots meet Smith and the 49ers in Indy with the Patriots winning the Lombardi trophy.
I really don’t see anyone stopping this N.E. offense.
I heard someone on ESPN say this morning that the old adage that “defense wins championships” was going to be proven wrong this weekend in Foxborough … really?! There’s a reason why it’s been said for so long.
I don’t think the Saints and especially the Packers are enjoying how far their ridiculously powered offenses got them in the playoffs …
If I’m just looking at QB’s, I’ll say Brandy and Eli. Though I’m probably going to have to get Archie’s approval for talking about Eli. I’ll get back to you on that.
