Some Predictions:
September 4, 2010 in Uncategorized by Steve Shoup
There are only two competitive games among top 25 teams this Saturday outside of that we have a lot of nice warmup games that launch quite a few Heisman Trophy campaigns. Of the two competitive games here are my predictions:
(24) Oregon State vs (6) TCU- The Hornfrogs are a hot team and should be poised for a big year, but I don’t know if they survive their week one match up. Oregon State is an impressive football team and I think they will surprise some people this year. I believe the Rodgers brothers will be too much for TCU (and most of the country) to handle. TCU keeps it close, but the Beavers win 31-27.
(21) LSU vs (18) UNC- Boy just a week ago I would have said this game is going to be UNC’s coming out party, but now i’m not so sure. They will be without 13 players tonight including a number of key starters. On the positive side both LB’s Bruce Carter and Quan Sturdivant were declared eligible, after original reports had them suspended as well. While they got their two stud linebackers back, they will be without three starters on the defensive line and another 3 in the secondary. In addition both their top receiver and top two running backs will be ineligible. With that loss of talent there is just about no way the Tar Heels can win this tough opening game. I think LSU cruises against a very weakened defense to a 42-17 win.
