While I would have expected the Redskins to be out of the playoff hunt by Thanksgiving, who, in their wildest imagination would have thought the E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles! would have been done at this point as well??

Like seeing Grossman going downfield. Would appreciate seeing him go to Gaffney more since I’m playing him in fantasy. But that guy Anderson that they picked up this could be an interesting one.
i agree with that, but the O-line still can’t block, and why is Torain getting the carries? Torain now has 20 yards on 11 carries, i def. believe Helu would do better

Breakdown coming at some point (maybe), but in all, I’m not getting consistent efforts across the roster… plus, having Murray’s 18 points on the bench didn’t help either, but WP had some good players on the bench as well…
Are you going to make any trades to make a last minute playoff push?
Probably not as it was really hard to get the first one done… and Steve won’t be reasonable.

I think it’s more important to think about what they hopefully WON”T do – and that would be to go after Fielder or Pujols. Maybe go after C.J. Wilson and if they can package Wang and not too many top prospects to get Upton, I’d be OK with that. I’m sure many won’t agree with me on this one, but I think they should make a push to sign Reyes.

Thanks to the Cardinals for letting them come back and take the lead. And then Ponder is putting up almost as many points for you as Schaub is for me!
haha, you have got to have faith in Ponder…man if the Jags offense could move the ball forward and not turn the ball over they would be a pretty good team. They shut down Schuab/Foster pretty well so far.
At least Steven Jackson is keeping me in the game.

@willypops you watching the Pitt game? What do you think about the rumors of Pitt applying to join the ACC?
Hadn’t heard that. That has major implications. What happens to the other teams left in the Big East? I guess the conference would continue to exist. Looks like TCU made a mistake committing to the Big East. If Pitt & Syracuse go to the ACC that would make the Big East irrelevant. Sadly, football considerations would have the effect of eviscerating the best college basketball conference. These 4 mega-conferences that will be created will each be broken into divisions. So won’t those divisions have the feel of being a conference?
yeah the interesting thing is that Baylor and Iowa St. are prepared to try to go to the Big East if the Big 12 collapses. Iowa State isn’t much in FB, but Baylor has been known to put some teams together add them with TCU and it seems solid.
One other thing – I would rather see Pitt and Syracuse move to the Big Ten (or is it now the Big 14 or 16 or whatever?) Pitt would again play Penn State regularly and there would be a natural geographic rivalry set up with Ohio State. Maybe not a competitive rivalry in football but basketball could be fun. Syracuse and Penn State also seemed to be a good rivalry. However, I wouldn’t mind seeing Jamie Dixon’s teams regularly beat Duke and UNC!
I guess you can keep the Backyard Brawl, but it will be hard to schedule a non-conference game that late in the season…esp. if by joining a mega conference you will have ACC Championship considerations as well.
If Pitt goes to the Big Ten or whatever they want to be called it would be a BB downgrade, but the ACC would be about the same just a different style of BB. It would suck to see them not play Georgetown and UConn though.
I’m afraid the Jamie Dixon would leave if Pitt moved to the ACC.
that could be a fear…it think it would be a bigger fear if they go to the Big 10 since that is a worst brand of B-ball
I’m not a huge fan of teams bouncing around from conference to conference. I can understand if the move is made to get an even number of teams in a conference for divisions and what not, but some of these moves are going over the top.
I def don’t like when teams bounce around. And although Big East is weak in football, its a powerhouse in Basketball. So overall I would hate to see Pitt make that move and hope they don’t!
Move is now official… I’ll have more to say later, but this screams of the beginning of an expansion, not the ending. won’t be surprised if West Virginia joins the party soon… BTW, ACC men’s basketball and lacrosse is going to be sick! And I get to see SU football AND basketball locally now!
That’s true…exciting to see them locally! WVU will prob make a move soon you’re right. Wow…still shocked!

That was pretty ridiculous! Ump was ready to go home. The fact the McHenry made a swipe tag didn’t help. Skip Bayless made a good point on First Take this morning that if there was instant replay, the call might have stood since all replays were inconclusive. But I think McHenry made the tag. If you look at Lugo’s initial reaction, he knew that he was out. At least it was clear that Sid Bream was safe!
