my sleeper pick for the SB is the new york giants. FANTASTIC pass rush, which is absolutely killer in the NFL. if you can disrupt the QB’s timing in this league, you’re golden. they also have a stable of receivers in nicks, manningham, and cruz as well as a solid run game with bradshaw and jacobs, and eli manning seems to be coming into his own. i know he already has a ring, but he’s been looking pretty elite lately
new england scares me (in a bad way) because their pass defense is horrendous and they have been lacking the ability to run the ball as of late. new orleans has a great offense, but once again lackluster pass D. pittsburgh is always a contender but is their defense too old to compete down the stretch?

whether he does or doesn’t, i think there could be an underlying message here (even in peyton says there’s not).

yeah i know its pretty upsetting. players are probably anxious to get their rings as well (i think they give those out at the first game). missed a great matchup with the bulls last night too.
as for when the season may start… i think they’re going to do everything in their power to have things underway by december. christmas is such a huge day for the NBA and its fans, the one day where i would say they challenge the NFL in terms of the amount of people watching on any given day.

if Lane stadium was a woman i would definitely marry her. i’ve missed very few games since my parents got season tickets 3 years before michael vick came and changed tech football forever. there’s nothing like being in lane stadium for enter sandman!

yeah it will be rough, but since they promoted from within I don’t see too many issues

Ever since the McNabb experiment in DC…this makes me weary and think the Raiders could get burned…but if they could have a great season this year followed from a couple good ones…it could have been worth it for Palmer! But nothing ever works in Washington so it may work somewhere else!
And wow did the Bengals get lucky that Jason Campbell got hurt…this is going to be huge for them!yeah the begals came out on top in this one. got rid of a nuisance and got GREAT value for him
yeah I think he will be fine for the Raiders…it is a huge risk though and I think they paid too much.

we’ve also expanded since when i did it last year. we are now streaming games directly to certain popular bars in downtown blacksburg so that students have another option on how to view the game. there are decent turnouts for the games but it’s predominantly families from the roanoke area (where the arena is).
ideally, the team would like a 1,500 to 2,000 capacity arena because it would likely be packed for most games and practice would occur more frequently. the long term goal is for the program to elevate from club status to an actual division 1 program

haha well thanks for the confidence in me! but you’re totally right, basketball was booming in popularity by the end of the playoffs. the miami heat gives america a villain to tune in to see fail and other ”superteams” that are being put together sparked people’s interest.
ironically enough, its teams like the heat, knicks and celtics who are angering small market owners because they can’t afford to keep up. (not telling you anything you already don’t know obviously).
the NBA finals were the most exciting since jordan and the bulls in the 90s, and ratings were through the roof. its just been such a sad year for sports. i know the NFL got their lockout worked out, but at the end of the day, 2 of our major sporting leagues had to/are having to sit down and argue over how millions and billions of dollars should be divided…
which makes me (internet lingo) SMH lol

its so much fun! it’s a student run operation, we stream the games to this website primarily because VT’s closest hockey rink is 45 minutes away so attendance for the games are sparse
