I’m not optimistic. Really, I’ve been dealing with lack of competition for years now, if they have something to gain in the trade market, they should take it and get worse this year. I won’t bat an eyelash.

I don’t necessarily think they should play every other team either, but its just part of my point. They could easily if they wanted. They have the time to balance it at least a little bit.

I don’t think Harper will be up next year, maybe September. I don’t think they should bring him up either. I also don’t think they should go after Fielder. They need to relax a bit for a year, sure up the pen a little bit at the front end and sure up the back end of the rotation. Next year is a bit of a transition year. I also think they need a better shortstop than Desmond. I think he’s a back-up utility player. Focus on coaching and development.

next year if they sign a guy like Fielder, get Stras back and Harper comes up it could even start next season (optimistic I know)
