@pauld Thank god we have LaRoche or I don’t think we’d average more than a run a game. Nats need to have a big series in Geoff’s neck of the woods.
That was a less then fortunate series all around. We struggled runs, both ours and theirs. Damn Pirates.
Well at least Strasburg came through and the bullpen didn’t blow it
I just went back and watched the highlights. It wasn’t the Nats beating the Pirates, it really was Strasburg beating the Pirates.
Indeed…Strasburg is leading the league in strikeouts despite being on a pitch count limit

@pauld did you see about Werth breaking his wrist? I’m guessing he’s done till after the All-Star break
Of all the games in the series to not watch, I missed a big one. And what was this about Hamels intentionally hitting Harper? It is a shame about Werth, didn’t he break that same wrist a few years ago?
Yeah I missed most of the game though I did see Harper get hit and then steal home…which was awesome. That is a good question about Werth I am not sure if he broke that wrist before or not

No one really responded, so I was debating whether to just watch it at home or just go anyway. If you want to go, though, I’m definitely game.
that sucks, yeah i really want to go, but I can’t make it tonight. We do need to plan a game soon.

Hey, I’d be happy with one run if they can shutdown the sloppy runs they gave away last night. And while Harper hasn’t been putting the points on the board, that kid nailed it on that crazy throw from left field to home last night in the third, if I recall. It was a close call, but he was out even if the ref didnt see it.
yeah the bat will come around, hopefully Zimmerman will be back soon to take some pressure off of him.

@pauld did you see Zimmerman might need to go on the D.L.? Not sure if they can be missing both he and Morse and keep this up. Then again our pitching has been filthy
I was just reading that article. Yeah, Zim has been amazing so far. He keeps diving for some of these hits, it’s not surprising he busts his shoulder.
And how crazy is it that even if we didn’t have Strasburg, people would be talking about how Gio Gonzales is topping the stats for pitchers across the league?

@pauld boy it would be great if the Nats could win tonight. With Morse being gone for awhile as many early wins as we can steal is key.
It’s going to be a long 6 weeks. Hopefully the Nats remember that a clean up hitter is nice and all, but everyone IS allowed to score runs on their own.
Haha seriously the number of hits and walks they have gotten should have produced far more runs

We should have been up by 2 in the first goddammit! Desmond just sounded like he was bored on third for half of the first.
yeah it was awful, 3rd and 2nd and 1 out with our 4th and 5th hitters coming up should have been a guaranteed run
not with LaRoche its not!
WOOOO Go Nats! That was an awesome double play!
Hopefully the other hitters will realize that they can get hits and Desmond isn’t the only one. But still nice way to start the year

That is pretty big, but we need hitters! I’m tired after the Fielder tease we had for an entire month…we need to learn how to hit. And not get kidnapped, that one is pretty important.
