Steve Shoup started the forum topic Tyler Moore starting in LF tonight in the group Washington Nationals: 1 week, 6 days ago · View
With Werth’s injury sidelining him till at least August, the Nats need to find a fix for LF. Tyler Moore offers the most pop potential, but he’s pretty raw particularly defensively. Tonight will be a big test to see if he can play more regularly, as he gets the start.

Steve Shoup started the forum topic Surviving the Werth Injury: in the group Washington Nationals: 2 weeks, 1 day ago · View
The Nationals lost Jayson Werth to a broken wrist last night, and he could be out until at least late June (more likely early July). The Nats are already without LF Michael Morse until that time (and closer Drew Storen), plus Ryan Zimmerman, Adam LaRoche, and Mark DeRosa all returning from injuries (and maybe not [...]

Yeah Bennett seemed to be fine and I wouldn’t rush Thomas back, but good to see that they don’t expect it to be too long.

Ah no, not going myself – I’ve cleared my schedule for the day to watch it in DC. Sadly, I haven’t been to an Oregon game since college. Just too far away! But one day soon, I hope!

Re: Thomas – he seems to think he’s going to be ok (see http://tinyurl.com/3mwk5fe). It’s clear he wants to start again asap, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he sat out this week until he’s 110%. I think everyone has confidence that Bryan Bennett could handle Colorado. I do think he’ll be back around Washington [...]

No i agree with that. Kelly has that team ready regardless of who is playing. Have you heard how long Thomas might be out? I think it would be key for him to be back by Stanford.

Halfway into our season and things are on an upward climb. It’s weird to say that when our top two starters have had injuries, but this weekend’s game proved something to our fan base and to the nation: we have crazy depth and fantastic coaching. Watching Bryan Bennett and Kenjon Barner (who really isn’t a [...]

I think a lot of Pac-10ers really underrated Utah. And yes, I agree with your assessment. Only UCLA and Oregon State are really suffering (unfortunately we don’t play UCLA this year).

yeah this should be another solid week, but the Pac 12 will be interesting this year. A lot of teams I feel have gotten better (and of course adding Utah).

Missouri State. We shouldn’t have a hard time winning that one! The real test will come when we start Pac-12 play. Lots of good teams. We start at Arizona – not the best team in the Conference, but usually tough when they’re at home with their sizable fan base.

Who do you all play this weekend? I think that was a tough week 1 match-up, but like you said you’re moving on and can still dominate the Pac-10!

After a disappointing week 1, it looks like Oregon football is back in its groove. Commentators say that when other teams have a lot of time to prepare for us, they beat us, but I think when we have too much time off we get a little rusty. Last week we shook that rust off, [...]
