That’s a tough call…. I’ve heard Marc Crawford’s name floated out there… McPhee hopefully will pick somebody with NHL experience, as I say in the blog entry, but you never know with him…. There are some NHL assistant coaches (one of the Rangers’ guys was mentioned some where) who might get consideration too.

haha, yeah I never saw them overturning this. It’s a gray area on both sides and the league has more precedence backing them up.

The Arbitrator has rejected the appeal by the Redskins and cowboys to reinstate their Salary Cap dollars. This news is pretty bad for the Redskins as they are still in the process of rebuilding and could have used the extra money next season to add pieces around RGIII. BTW, if you want to know how well Adam Jones is doing this year, he’s got 14 home runs (only four behind Josh Hamilton for the MLB lead) and is hitting .308 and has scored 32 runs (third in the AL). The O’s lead the majors in home runs, by the way, and have the second best bullpen ERA in baseball. Jim Johnson’s 15 saves are two more than anybody else and he even missed a few games with injury. Just sayin…
Should have got something worked out with Jones long term in March. Now its just going to cost more. Either way, get it done Angelos. They should beat their usual 1 all star this season.

Jones really has broken out this year… much better than last year… hope they can sign him long-term too… making that Bedard trade look pretty amazing, eh?
I agree that he’s broken out and raised the level of his play tremendously this season. The O’s better get a new deal done this season b/c his agent has stated that he will test free agency after next season without a new deal in place by the end of this season. Plus I’m loving this b/c Jones is on 2 of my 3 fantasy teams. On one I have Jones, Hamilton, and Granderson.

I’ve heard that he will announce his retirement at some point and has already accepted the fact his career is over. I hate to see guys go out this way, but it’s always a risk.

I hadn’t seen that yet! 4th…whew. I don’t always like huge expectations early, but I think we’re getting used to them
I really hope we don’t drop any of the easy early games. If we can make it through and give our new QB (my money is on Bennett still) some time to get his legs, I really do have high hopes. yeah the QB battle should be interesting. I’m guessing Bennett wins it to start the year but I’ve heard a lot of good things on Mariota so I think he’ll get some chances during the season.
