Picks: 1-15 16-30 NBA Draft Blog 16. Houston Rockets (From NYK)- Quincy Miller- PF- Baylor – The Rockets need to keep building up their frontcourt and Miller offers them excellent upside. 17. Dallas Mavericks- Terrence Jones- SF- Kentucky- – Jones is a top 10-15 talent, but his inconsistent play will likely allow him to fall to the Mavericks. [...]

How much do you pay attention to NFL’s OTAs?  Do you believe it gives major indicators for the season?

The defending champs just took a body blow as 1b/LF Lance Berkman will miss the rest of the year due to a torn ACL. The Cards remain atop the NL Central, but have lost 4 in a row, and won just two of their last 10 games. They are going to need some other guys [...]

I’ve heard that he will announce his retirement at some point and has already accepted the fact his career is over. I hate to see guys go out this way, but it’s always a risk.

@garneyloom did you see that ESPN has Oregon as the 4th rated team going into the summer http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7938511/college-football-way-too-early-2012-top-25

I hadn’t seen that yet! 4th…whew. I don’t always like huge expectations early, but I think we’re getting used to them ;-) I really hope we don’t drop any of the easy early games. If we can make it through and give our new QB (my money is on Bennett still) some time to get his legs, I really do have high hopes.

@gms1006 if only the Tigers could play the Pirates every series they’d be sitting pretty.

Look I have no issue with that I was only looking at a baseline of what level of talent it would take to make a deal. I believe Avery and Birdwell are roughly the same level of prospect. Birdwell has higher upside, but Avery is ML ready and has a lower bust rate (at worst [...]

Good to see him get a win AND homerun & hit today!
I hope they just keep an eye on him and keep his innings down. We need him! Pitching is saving us so far this season!

  • Steve Shoup wrote a new blog post: DAILY DISCUSSION: Strasburg’s Arm, Cause for Concern?   1 day, 12 hours ago · View

Should the Nats be concerned about Stephen Strasburg’s arm fatique?  Should they shut him down temporarily or just really watch closely and limit his innings further?

  • Steve Shoup posted on the forum topic Should the Orioles Pursue Roy Oswalt in the group Baltimore Orioles :   1 day, 20 hours ago · View

I know he wants to get paid, but from what I’ve read he’s really only looking for a 1 year deal (and it will be pro rated) So if you pay him $12 million (only $8 million for the last 4 months) I think that is fine.

@beltwayboysports think Strasburg can salvage a win in this series? My tip…don’t pitch to Adam Jones.

The O’s look good and we don’t at this point. But the Nats really need to get thuis win before heading out on the tough road trip ahead.

We were there, and yes it was tough. They have some great pitching and a few sluggers as well. They also don’t seem to make as many defensive errors as we do. 2 out of 3 aint bad though!

It’s pretty amazing that the Kings are undefeated on the road and have gone 2-0 up on the three top-seeded teams in the Western Conference. While they [...]

Your right I was looking at his stats from two years ago. Headley and Gonzalez aren’t in the same boat. And I know the Padres will try to promote him as a better hitter, but there is no guarantee teams will bite on that. Even in a hitters park Headley is not a 20HR guy [...]
