Meg’s Skinnies Gameday: Keys to the Game #2

To continue my blog on my Skinnies…here’s another post on what I think are the keys to a Redskins victory tomorrow against the Rams!

First of all, I don’t know a whole lot about the Rams…so can’t give much analysis there.  What  I do know is that they’re still a very weak team, especially after their performance last week and losing 28-0 to Seattle!  So with that said, I think the Redskins need to win by atleast 2 touchdowns!  This should be a game that we as fans shouldn’t be nervous at home with 2 minutes left…so I better not be!

-Redskins offense can use this game to build confidence after their lackluster performance last week.  They can prove to everyone that its true what they’re saying…this is a different offense than last year.  So with that, they need to get INTO the endzone and not settle for field goals against this Rams defense.  I’d like to see at least 3-4 offensive touchdowns!

-Jason Campbell is obviously, a key component to that offense, but for us to score 3-4 touchdowns, I think he needs to make quicker decisions and trust his feet.  He’s fast and should get out of the pocket more.  That fumble last week was ridiculous because he was a statue back there and wound up like he truly had all the time in the world.  I’d like to see him connect on a deep pass with one of the receivers too…probably Moss.

-The defense too needs to prove that they are different from last year, especially after what we acquired during the offseason (Haynesworth, Orako, etc.)  Those two and the front 7 NEED to put pressure on the quarterback and FORCE turnovers!  Because I don’t think we can trust our secondary on their own!

Hope we get a big win tomorrow!  Can’t wait!!
