Meg’s Skinnies Gameday – Keys to the Game #9

9:51 am in Uncategorized by Megan Shoup

So this week, I think the Redskins keys to the game should be play loose.  What do we have to lose?  Denver is on a losing streak and coming East, so if we’re going to get an upset, I think this is the week to do it.  Although I know the season may be lost, I think a win this week would be good for the city’s morale of this dissapointing team this year.

Keys to the game…

-Jason Campbell is going to have to scramble for his life because our offensive line stinks and they have a great defense with a lot of sacks.  So he’ll have to use his feet to get some first downs when he gets in trouble.  He also needs to get rid of the ball very quickly.

-We need another big game from Ladell Betts if he plays!

-I say it every week…defense needs a touchdown like the Steelers did to Denver on Monday night.  Or a special teams touchdown.  We’ve got to be one of the only teams in the league without either!

I think upset this week…HTTR!

Meg’s Skinnies Gameday: Keys to the Game

How can the Redskins break their losing streak and go into the Georgia Dome and upset the Falcons?  They have a lot of injuries so its gonna take a lot!  They’ve got a really tough schedule coming up and I think the only way the can pull off some wins is if the defense and special teams step up.  With that my keys to the Redskins vs. Falcons game…

-Defense needs turnovers, maybe even some defensive touchdowns.

-Special teams needs to score a touchdown.  Our kick and punt returns have to be one of the worst in the league.  We either need to set up great field position or even get our first return for a touchdown this season.

-Offensive line needs to step up and protect Campbell better and let Portis have a good day!

Let’s see if we can pull off an upset!  HTTR!

Meg’s Skinnies Gameday: Keys to MNF Game

So after all the drama…can the Redskins pull off an upset on Monday Night Football against division rival Philadelphia Eagles?  I always over believe in them but I think yes!  The Redskins always have a way of losing to teams the shouldn’t and beating teams they shouldn’t.  And I’m hoping all the changes (mainly new playcaller) will help, not hurt my skinnies!  Plus, dumb and dumber endorsed the Zman for the rest of the season so that should take away some drama.

So my keys to this game and shocking the world…

-Score early and don’t let the Eagles jump ahead.  Based on our struggling offense, this can’t be a shootout!

-Defense needs to get to Donavan McNabb just like Oakland did…sacks and preferbly some interceptions!

-If you’re going to make this a defensive battle, you also have to play better on special teams!  Suisham needs to keep making field goals but the rest of the special teams needs  to step up!

Hopefully a new play caller is just what this offense needs (besides a new offensive line)!

HTTR!

Meg’s Skinnies Gameday: Keys to the Game #5

My keys to today’s game for my skinnies are very simple…

-SCORE POINTS — TOUCHDOWNS, not field goals!  Score early!

-Force Jake Delhomme to throw a couple interceptions.  A defensive touchdown may be needed to win if our offense doesn’t step up!

I’m nervous for today’s game but think we can make Carolina 0-4 if we get some turnovers!

So I didn’t do my usual pre-game “Keys to the Game”, which didn’t matter because the Redskins didn’t really execute any “keys” to a game.  But they escaped with a win, and for that I’m grateful!  We’re still 2-2, just like the Cowboys, Steelers and others.  Am I happy with the way they’re playing?  Absolutely not, the offense is still hard to watch.  But its a long season, and I’m not giving up yet!

Especially if we can win the next 2 and be 4-2 going into the Eagles home Monday night game!   Check for a Gameday preview later this week!
