Preparing for REDSKINS DYNASTY!

Public Group active 1 week, 1 day ago

For any true Redskins fan! Comment or start forum posts about the Redskins here!

I smell DYNASTY for the 2010s! Why?

-Fired the team tumor that was Vinny Cerrato.
-Hired a legitimate and ACTUAL GENERAL MANAGER in Bruce Allen (the history and nostalgia doesn’t hurt there either)
-Fired Jim Zorn…nice guy but wasn’t doing the job!
-Hired an OFFENSIVE minded head coach with Super Bowl rings in Mike Shanahan.
-Hired an agressive defensive coordinator in Jim Haslett.
-Hopefully make impressive moves in free agency and offseason and we’ll be in business!

Who believes the same?!

Packers Release A.J. Hawk Should this be an option for the Redskins? (4 posts)

I like Hawk and think he could fit in the ILB role filled by McIntosh. Not sure what he wants in terms of money, but he could be a decent option. What do you guys think?

I’m SHOCKED they released him!! Could they just not afford him because they have too much other talent at linebacker?
I definitely think we should pursue him to replace McIntosh!

From what I could tell, Hawk never lived up to the expectations people had for him when he was drafted. While he performed solidly for the most part, I don’t think he is a top-tiered inside linebacker. If the Redskins have completely closed the door on McIntosh then I think they should pursue Hawk at a reasonable price. If there is still a chance to bring back McIntosh, I’d prefer they try doing that. Of course you don’t know what may happen with McIntosh until this CBA crap gets resolved, so I guess the safe thing would be to try and get Hawk now. I think I confused myself on this one!!

I don’t think Hawk is suited for a 3-4. That’s why they released him. When they drafted him, they weren’t running the 3-4 yet. 3-4 is a completely different defense from a linebacker standpoint than the 4-3 and he doesn’t have the size for the inside in that or the speed for the outside, so they let him go. Since the Redskins are running a 3-4 now, I don’t think picking him up is a good idea. Some team in need of depth in a 4-3 system should definitely take a look, though.
