    without picks in the 2nd and 3rd round they could consider trading back to pick up a couple extra selections. If they stay where they are, they should look at the top wing or center.

    I also wonder if they will look to trade Semin now, if they can land a good 1st round pick for him and maybe some prospect, they should consider it. It’s a deep draft and if they trade him for picks and prospects, then they will have a nice chunk of change to bring in a quality defenseman in FA.

    I think we need to make sure we keep Brooks Laich and Jason Arnott and they should be the leaders in the locker room for all these young and talented guys!

    I’m sure they will deal a goalie as well, but my guess is it will be for a more proven player. Semin is some what of a salary trade (not that they won’t get value for him, but that moving his salary is a big part of the reasoning)

    Steve, George McPhee has done great at either trading for extra picks or making the best of lower-round selections. So I’m not as worried about that.

    Meg, I think Laich will be back and I agree with you on that. Not sure about Arnott, though.

    Both, I would LOVE if they traded Semin — even for a bag of chips — as he’s not the kind of player who has postseason characteristics. Varly’s a RFA, so he might just walk, but we’ll see.

    I say trade Semin and get a new coach. I also agree with Steve if you trade Semin that may give them a good first round pick too. We can only hope.
