It really sucks to see Alexander Ovechkin go down with an injury that will keep him out 7-10 days. I’m trying to look on the bright side of things, but this still sucks b/c of the timing. He will be back before the NHL Playoffs start and I know thats the most important thing! Will this affect team chemistry and knock us off the great roll we have been on?

I’m curious to know what the injury is b/c they won’t release it, but I understand them keeping it hush-hush.

From what I read it sounds like they’re just trying to give time for some little nagging injuries to heal up so he can come back fresh.
I don’t feel this will affect team chemistry because I don’t think he’s missing a ton of games…just 7-10 days. But its a fair question to ask.
As long as we win the Southeast Division…I think this is the right decision and gives us a better chance in playoffs! We want the CUP!

Yeah I don’t think it is ever a good sign that it is so hush-hush. It def. could slow the Caps momentum and possibly affect the playoff seeding depending on what they do. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I know teams will rest their players after clinching a division or a playoff spot as long as it does not hurt their seeding, but this just don’t feel right to me and is very strange timing on the eve of going to Philly and only 2 points behind them for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Maybe I’m missing something and I honestly hope I am b/c everything was starting to click and with the playoffs so close it just felt like we were starting a march to the Cup. I really, really hope I’m wrong about this injury ………
