NFL Week 15 Power Rankings
December 10, 2013 in NFL Power Rankings
-The Seahawks may have lost to their division rivals Sunday, but they are still very much in the drivers' seat in the NFC.
2. Denver Broncos (Last Week #2)-
-The Broncos got another high scoring, impressive win and should coast into playoffs as the #1 seed in the AFC.
3. New Orleans Saints (Last Week #4)-
-Don't mess with Sean Payton, Drew Brees and the Saints at home. Huge divisional win that pretty much sealed the #2 seed for them.
4. New England Patriots (Last Week #3)-
-The Patriots almost lost to the Browns, but like usual just found a way to win. They did have a big loss though, Gronk is out for the season. Can they replace him effectively to make another Super Bowl run?
5. Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week #6) -
-The Chiefs just embarrassed the Redskins and really got back on track after losing 3 in a row.
6. Cincinnati Bengals (Last Week #8)-
-Huge win for the Bengals Sunday to pretty much secure the #3 seed in the AFC.
7. Carolina Panthers (Last Week #5)-
-Rough loss for the Panthers Sunday night in the Superdome, but that's a tough place to play. Still have to think this team will be the #5 seed.
-The 49ers were not ready to concede the NFC West to the Seahawks just yet and got a big home win. Also shows they could do some damage in the playoffs.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week #11)-
-Snowy field, no problem for LeSean McCoy. This guy was insane and may just help lead this team to an NFC East division crown. They certainly gained some ground on the Cowboys this week.
10. Arizona Cardinals (Last Week #13)-
-Wow Bruce Arians has this team playing good football. Still on the outside looking in for the playoffs but a pleasantly surprising season for the Cardinals as they got another division win on Sunday.
11. Baltimore Ravens (Last Week #14) -
-On a snowy field the Ravens had several exciting scores at the end to beat the Vikings. What a game (or last few minutes), and keeps the Ravens as the 6th seed and allows them to control their own destiny.
12. Indianapolis Colts (Last Week #7)-
-With the Colts loss to the Bengals, they've basically sealed themselves as the 4th seed in the AFC and look to have to play the scary Chiefs.
13. Chicago Bears (Last Week #18)-
-Josh McCown and the Bears offense was insane on Monday night. This does not look like a back-up QB at all, which begs the question as to what will happen when Cutler returns. But for now the Bears need to focus on the Browns to keep winning and hope Lions lose again.
14. San Diego Chargers (Last Week #17)-
-Big home win to stay in the playoff race. Now Rivers & co. have a very tough test on Thursday night against the Broncos.
15. Detroit Lions (Last Week #12)-
-The Lions were in a great position to keep their lead in the NFC North if only they could have hung onto their lead in the snow over the Eagles. But they didn't and the Bears and Packers won, so the pressure is on the Lions.
16. Dallas Cowboys (Last Week #10)-
-The Cowboys defense did not stop the Bears once from scoring points. Not once. Can't win a division with a defense like that.
17. Miami Dolphins (Last Week #15)-
-If not for Antonio Brown's foot being out, Dolphins fans would be in a much different place right now. But its a game of inches, and this team is still in the playoff hunt.
18. Green Bay Packers (Last Week #19)-
-Got a win over the Falcons to stay in the playoff picture. Now the question is will Aaron Rodgers be back to lead a winning streak to get them in?
19. Pittsburgh Steelers (Last Week #16)-
-If Antonio Brown's foot was a little to the right, this team would still be in the playoff hunt. Rough, close loss for the Steelers at home.
20. Tennessee Titans (Last Week #20)-
-A loss to the Broncos, so you really can't fault the Titans too bad.
21. St. Louis Rams (Last Week #22)-
-The Rams had a rough loss to the Cardinals Sunday. But Rams fans should be watching Redskins games and rooting against them because they could have the #1 overall pick.
22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week #24)-
-The Bucs are on a tear and not only have saved their coach's job but really look to be the team we thought they could be this season.
23. New York Giants (Last Week #21)-
-Ugly loss for the Giants in San Diego. This defense has major issues. Will be interesting to see how this team finishes the season and who returns next year.
24. Cleveland Browns (Last Week #23)-
-The Browns were beating the Patriots pretty much the whole game, and if not for a questionable call at the end may have won. But Tom Brady & co. had too much magic for them to handle.
25. New York Jets (Last Week #27)-
-Continuing the inconsistency season, this week the Jets were on and got a big win over the Raiders.
-The Vikings gave the Baltimore Ravens a scare on Sunday in a snowy battle that had several lead changes in the 4th Quarter. Joe Flacco threw a TD pass with seconds left to beat them. AP went down with injury (sprained foot), so it will be interesting to see if he can play this week.
27. Oakland Raiders (Last Week #25)-
-Another team with another ugly loss to another disappointing season.
28. Buffalo Bills (Last Week #28)-
-Tons of turnovers and ugly loss for the Bills to the Bucs on Sunday.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars (Last Week #30)-
-The Jaguars win another game and show that Gus Bradley might have this team heading in the right direction. With a quarterback and strong 2014 NFL Draft, who knows with this team.
30. Atlanta Falcons (Last Week #29)-
-Played better against the Packers, but still lost and are 3-10.
31. Washington Redskins (Last Week #31)-
-Soap opera. Disaster. Free fall. All apply to this team and the drama that surrounds them. There's a new story coming out every single day and now we await to see if RG3 will be shelved for the rest of the season.
32. Houston Texans (Last Week #32)-
-The coach is fired and this team is reeling, losing again to the Jaguars on Thursday night. Whoever their new coach is may get to enjoy the #1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft though.
